What are the baby blues?

The baby blues usually begin in the first few days after birth and can include tearfulness, low mood, anxiety, irritability and emotional sensitivity.

These feelings usually lessen and settle within about two weeks without specific treatment. Rest, practical help and a calm conversation may help.
